Coleen Jones

A self-described artist, Coleen Jones is an artist who is committed to draw, paint and tell the story through artistic expression.  She has spent the last five years creating landscapes, animal scenes, and is currently most proud of the work she is doing to study, draw, paint, and tell the history about Native Americans.  She is passionate about the work she is doing to promote Arts Alive and her commitment to volunteer at the gallery, bringing in new artists, making improvements, and suggestions that will help the gallery continue to thrive to achieve the goal of supporting new artists.

As a previous Controller, turned juried artist at several galleries, she has developed a unique perspective to many aspects of the art world influenced by yesterday’s and today’s artists; such as John Constable 1776-1837 and Claude Monet 1840-1926 and Charles M. Russell 1864-1926. Today, she is influenced by Helma Raycher and many of the artists at Arts Alive.  Her first love for art came from Joan Wells at Art in the Woods in Poulsbo, Washington, where she fell in love with the world of art.  From growing up in Western Montana, beautiful landscapes and wild animals became a passion she never outgrew and a passion into which she continues to grow..
