Janet Berthon

Janet has had a life long fascination with the arts. During her teaching career, she realized her favorite subject to teach elementary students was ART.

Janet studied at the University of Washington, earning a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, with an emphasis in art. This allowed her to explore a wide range of artistic mediums and methods. Janet has continued to take art classes, keeping her hands busy and her mind occupied in the creative processes.

Following her retirement from teaching in 1999, Janet took courses at the Frye Art Museum, learning to draw and paint with oils and watercolor, to slump glass, and carve stone. She also studied stone carving with Sabah Al-Dhaher at Pratt Fine Arts Center.

Janet has exhibited sculpture and painting at Art in the Garden, Enumclaw Art Walks, Arts Alive, and at the King County Fair Base Camp Exhibits from 2003-2009.
