Lynn Kopelke

Lynn Kopelke is a “self teaching”* artist who makes his home just outside Enumclaw, Washington. Primarily a western and landscape painter, he draws inspiration from his surroundings, his cowboy and cowgirl friends, and the mythos he grew up watching on TV, or, as he likes to say, “Images of the real and “reel” west.”

Though he cannot remember ever not drawing and painting he only decided to devote his efforts to painting full time after losing his long time “real”job over a decade ago.

Lynn mostly, works in acrylics though he has been known to dabble in watercolors, graphite, and ink. He has a background in illustration and portraiture as well.

As his best friend once pointed out, “Lynn, you paint horses.” Yes. Yes, he does.

Lynn prefers this term “self teaching” to “self-taught.” You see, the word “taught” would seem to imply he has, actually, learned something.
